Welcome to Chris Persson's home page.

I am an English teacher at Chico High School and a committed member of a strong English department. My teaching assignment includes college prep and honors freshman English and Honors sophomore English in the Academy of Communications and Technology.

I am the coordinator of the ACT program. One of my many duties as coordinator is to serve as a contact person for ACT families and for others inside and outside of the Chico Unified School  District. If you are interested in information about our program or need to contact ACT teachers, email me at cpersson@chicousd.org or call my classroom (530-891-3026  ext. 604). ACT staff email addresses can also be found at the ACT website. Students and parents in both ACT and Honors 10 are also welcome to call me at home.

ACT 9 and  10 students are in classes taught by Chris. I am often assisted by competent student teachers and college interns. In the ACT program, the structure of the lessons, the daily schedule and the groups will be designed weekly to meet curriculum and student needs.

Materials Required for Class
Each student in English 9 and 10  is required to keep a writing folder in the classroom. You must also have a three-ring binder, or a section of one to be used for English, in class each day, as well as a pen or pencil and binder paper.

Assignment Guidelines
All written or typed assignments should reflect your best effort. Typed homework is always appreciated and sometimes required. Whether you write in pencil or pen or type, always work neatly. You must have margins on both sides of the paper. If working with pen, cross out errors with a single line. Avoid splotches, messy cross-outs, wrinkled paper, ragged edges. Work on one side only. Write your first and last name and the date in the top right hand corner of the paper. You might also title the assignment there. No other information is required unless specified by your teacher.
